What we believe about salvation from sin

  • Man’s total sinfulness: ‘All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3:23; Psalm 14:2,3)
  • The penalty of sin: ‘The wages of sin is death’ (Romans 6:23; Ezekiel 18:4)
  • Man’s inability to save himself: ‘By grace are ye saved through faith…not of works, lest any man should boast’ (Ephesians 2:8,9; Jeremiah 13:23)
  • God’s remedy in the cross of Christ: ‘Christ hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God’ (1 Peter 3:18; Isaiah 53:6)
  • The need for repentance: ‘God …commandeth all men everywhere to repent’ (Acts 17:30)
  • The need for faith: ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved’ (Acts 16:31)
  • The assurance of eternal salvation in Christ: ‘He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him’ (Hebrews 7:25)

  • Prayer Meetings: ‘Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God’ (Acts 12:5; 4:23-31)
  • Exercise of spiritual gift: ‘As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another’ (1 Peter 4:10; 1 Corinthians 14:34,35)
  • Leadership by God-appointed elders: ‘The Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God’ (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1-5)
